The only remaining full example of a Valiant anywhere on the planet, XD818 was the actual aircraft that dropped Britain's first hydrogen bomb. It was later moved to the RAF Museum at Hendon and now resides in the new Cold War museum at Cosford, restored to its original anti-flash white colour scheme (but completely impossible to photograph)

The very large ,but very aerodynamic Vickers Valiant could carry an armament of one 10,000lb. MC Mk 1 Blue Danube nuclear bomb;four 2,000lb. Red Beard tactical nuclear bombs;one 6,000lb. Mk 5 nuclear bomb;four Mk 28 or Mk 43 thermonuclear bombs;or 21 1,000lb. conventional bombs.
