This Buccaneer first flew in May 1961 and was part of a pre-production batch, initially used in trials before flying with proving and training units at RNAS Loussiemouth. The maintenance number 8403M was allocated, and became a gate guardian at RAF Honington where it was repainted in 736 NAS markings. XK531 was removed to Boscombe Down before being transferred by Chinook Helicopter on 5th December 1984 to The Defence Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Centre (an RAF Unit). Scrapped circa 1993.
