This is not only an original Sopwith Camel, but it is the ACTUAL aircraft flown by Lt Stuart D Culley during World War I. He is the most famous Camel pilot, most notably for his fearlessly brave flight on 11th August 1918. In this aircraft he took off from a 5ft flight deck of a wooded platform towed behind the naval destroyer HMS Redoubt, then climbed to over 18,000ft (taking an hour) to shoot down and destroy the German Zeppelin L.53 airship. Notice the machine guns on top of the upper wing.
