We sure miss PSA ! | |
Nice shot of a nice Retro-Jet. Nice to see the classic PSA-Colors...
Good ol' PSA. The only airline where all the guys fought for the aisle seats! - rsa
Reminds me of the good old days of aviation, when there was a lot of competition in the US air transport industry... And they didn't forget the smile either. ;)
OK, this is all well and good, but where is the AWA aircraft?
I love it- It doesn't have to make sense why they did the old livery. It's for the employees, honoring them. I wish other airlines would recognize their hereitage the way US Airways did. Maybe AA should think about putting up a TWA plane. To honor the employees whose blood sweat and tears made the airline. Way to go US/Cactus carriers!!!!
USAirways management gets an 'A' for effort but it isn't right by far. Paint some planes more accurately and start flying them north and south in California. Should have consulted PSA people first.
Looks like USAir still can't get it right. The smile is not even close to the size of the original. The tail is off too. Go look at any old picture of a real PSA plane and you'll see the difference. Nice try........should have had former PSA maintenance paint this one........
I love the colors and the great smile. It brings back alot of memories from the good ole' days when PSA was flying the western skies. A former PSA employee.
I hope the female flight attendants wear the PSA stewardess uniforms to complete the scheme.
I was about 13 or so when I took PSA from BUR to SFO. Turned out it was PSA's last day of operation before US Air took over. The captain bought everyone on board a drink (that meant an extra coke for me...) I even got a certificate for being a passenger on the last day of operation. The flight attendant let me deplane (by my self via the air stair) before take off to snap a picture of the smile on the MD80. Not like that would EVER happen today... I'll have to rummage through my photos to see if I can dig it up. I still remember it as if it were yesterday, what an experience! Airplanes were way comfortable at that age. Now it's shoulder to shoulder in coach.
It's nice to see that smile in the air again but would've preferred it on a 757 as an homage to those 727s that graced the skies of California.
It's great, but. WHY???? Anyone knows the reason for the ressurection of this particular scheme?
Great to see the PSA colors again.
Very good idea. I really like it. T.B.
Lush livelry!!!!JT | |
Fantasic! Much better than the New US livery... Thanks Jay Selman!!!!!
The smile is too small and the colors on the tail are painted up too high. Look at the web and you can find many pictures of the paint job. From a Former PSA Employee.
I've really missed that smile. Now I wish AA would paint one of our 737's in Aircal colors.
Great Pic....Keep up the great work....
Wow! I wish I could see the real PSA flying once again! Great paint job, great picture!
I love this picture. i think the new usairways management is amazing and i look forward to the other retro plane to show up.
This is a top notch photo. However, it seems to me that in comparison to real PSA photos, the colors are not quite right on this A-320. Something about the orange....
Pretty damn good pic. I work for US and never thought id see this kind of retro job done. Great pic! Thanks.
Make this permanate liverly, its so funny with the smlie, it greets u as u come to board the aircraft
Brings back my childhood...PSA. SMF-SAN. SMF-SNA. SMF-LAX-SAN. Official Airline for Disneyland =)
It reminds me Aviacsa smile! -Pichardo-
The smiles are back!!!!!! WOOO!!!!
A new US Airways A319 wearing PSA colors. Beautiful
The photo and the livery are top notch! There is far more to the story than meets the eye. The new USAirways, recently merged with America west Airlines, seeks to celebrate the four airlines heritage that make up the new one,,, Allegheny, Piedmont, PSA, and America West. Blending the four distinct cultures of the airlines into a new best practices culture of trust, cooperation, enabling employees, and producing the highest quality customer service, is the goal. Look for this airplane to visit San Diego, PSA's former base on Thursday, March 30th. There will be a celebration, retro uniforms, lots of smiles, and maybe even a few tears.
GREAT PIC! But why put PSA back?
Now if US could hire stewardesses like PSA had...
Very nice livery.. and a nice smile~
Wow puts a smile on my face, to see a new plane with those colors brings back the good o days
The happiest plane of the World :)
Nice job on the shot, yet i absolutely hate the scheme. It's ugly! I remember the PSA colors, I hated them too! Now why put them back onto a modern plane?
I love nostalgia! | |
It's got a smile on it too ! ... Thanks for sharing!
Wow, I feel like I'm back in the 1970's.
That is a great photo! Glad to see the smile back in the air. I wish every carrier would do something like his just to bring back the memories of the airlines absorbed due to mergers....Great job US.
It brings old and fond memories of one of the greatest airlines to take to the skies. long live p.s.a
Nice shot. The first PSA livery with a Star Alliance sticker on it. I really love retro style.
I don't get these retro schemes. And I think most people will not even understand it's a retro scheme. It'll just look silly!
Nice photo but enjoy the livery while it lasts. Looks like the radome may need replacement.... No word on when another one-off radome can be painted.
Very nice picture! | |
A bit Old School Style makes this livery lovely and impressive! Look at the black nose! Great shot :)
Nice! I like it, old school :)
Yes! That is sooo cool! Very happy to see this livery again.
Always have loved the smiling birds and I always will. Something about that paint makes me want to fly it every time I see it.
The red colour on this paint skeem dont look good on it.
WOW!!! What a shot Jay!!! Congrats! Its great to see this classic livery grace the skies again! I agree, I really hope she comes home to SAN!!! What an amazing and emotional sight that would be!!! Dave, San Diego, CA
It looks stunning! US Airways is proving to me why they are my favorite airline.
LOVE IT! Brings back many good times on PSA :)
Real blast from the past, can't wait to see what they do with the two A319's planned to have the Allegheny and Piedmont liveries put on.
LOL. That is a funny paint job.
WOW lovely scheme......good shot Jay! Andrew
Give it a month....and it'll have a white nose cose on it. ;)
Very sharp! Can't wait to see the rest of the retro fleet. I can't wait to see what the reaction is in SAN.
Also fun to see they have changed the registration appropriately!
BEAUTIFUL !...It's good to see the "CATCH OUR SMILE" plane back in the air.
Nice!! But it looks so retro! I hope to see it in Brazil someday too :) (with these colors)
It is a glorious day when a PSA Smileliner once again graces the skies...I hope we in San Diego get to see this bird once in a while - it is of GREAT sentimental value to us!
US Airways has been amazing in the last couple of months. This is a wonderful special livery! Can't wait to see it in person!
