Back where I fly in Belgium, I remember on a hot sunny day that bugs where atracted to the wingtip of my glider. we assumed they were atracted by the color red in which the wingtip was painted. maybe here they're also atracted to the color red from the NAV light ^^
I never thought an aircraft would draw a swarm of bees unless the old girl was parked in a graveyard, but to see it on a Airbus A319 that's obviously flight ready is incredible. These are new US Air livery colors as well, so this plane is parked temporarily. I wonder what made the bees home in on the leading edge of this aircraft? Nature is amazing, and until the A319 takes off, this is home of the bees.
How many bees does it take it change a nav light: cabout this many
That must be seat 10 BEE | |
Bee 72 Foxtrot go around traffic is on the winglet Fox!?!? where
This can be catastrophic! An airplane has already crashed because of bees!
Man, whatever attracted bees to the winglights is very rare, the ground crew should better be careful or they get stung! Great pic
Bees boarding an aircraft before take off! Thats gonna be a sweet flight. Regards Krishley.G.D.Purmanun
The queen must have been hit, and her pheromones spread on the wing tip.
BEEzzare! | |
This is an Airbus's experment. They can provide addition lift to the wing and save some fuel cost, BEE careful to put them equally on both wings to keep a balanced lift. If this experiment is success, they may put the BEEs as an option to the airlines. A very unique shot! 5 stars
I only can say great! | |
Do you think they will get any good service out there?
I think 250 knots+ will fix this..
You could get rid of them with a STINGER missile.
Must be filling up with BP (Bee Pee) get it? never mind...
Oh, that's how those africanized bees are migrating...
At least the bees are concerned about air safety. Look, they let the navigation lights to be seen still.
LOL a rare sight! BEE strike!!
Maximum take-off weight exceeded... Damn BEE's !
All aboard, where are they headed?
The wingtip must be made of HONEYcomb material....or maybe they thought the engines were made by HONEYwell. Very unique picture.
Only at LAX! | |
I think US Airways is replacing their human workers to bee workers to save money....:) By the way BEEautiful picture, nice to BEE There!
I wonder if this was a cause for making a Bee movie. thats to show the producers how you would get bee's onto a plane!
Wonder if they keep hanging on until Fl370.
Airborne Bee#1: "Shoot, this looks like LaGuardia at 5:00 o'clock" Bee#2 "Tell me about it. I've been circling for an hour."
To BEE or not to BEE... Two BEEs or not two BEEs..:) Great shot, 5*!
We all new it was coming.... the new movie.. "Bees on a Plane."
Ladies and gentelmen BEES...here's your captain speaking... please make sure your seat belt is set, we are ready for take off...thank you. ( for dinner... you can eat the fuselage :P )
Lol nice work with all the BEE jokes. I guess this pic has too BEE seen to BEE BEElieved
I am guessing the BEEcause of all the buzzing exceitment, there was a minor delay in getting this flight under way as the waitied for a Beekeeper
Wow. especially when it looks like a new livery of u.s. air! nice photo
That was the best airliner photo of bees on a plane
Ouch! Interesting photo, though I HATE bees!
You sure got the right moment - great shot!
Now that they are gone has anyone thought up what to do for plan Bee?
Oh BEEhave. Great Photo!
I hope they had the pitot tube covers on!! Gives a new meaning to A vs Bee on A.net :) Unique and a very interesting insight.
The best! amazing | |
Great photo. I'm sure a flight at FL350 would take care of that problem!
Oh! They found their new home. I wounder if the metal taste honey...Awsome photo
This shot tastes like honey on heavy metal. Awesome
Have honey? Amazing! | |
BEEautiful photo! ;) | |
BEEs on a plane > Snakes ...wonder how Samuel would have dealt with that
No happiness here! | |
"Bees On A Plane" ..... *groan*
Who's replacing the bulb? ME ?? ;-)
The Airbus must be really bugged...
The bees got a free flight (":
Anybody ever hear of a bee strike to an engine :)
THAT is a one-of-a-kind photo! Which do you think they like better - takeoffs or landings?
I guess they needed to BEE somewhere faster than flying there themselves. I suppose they were occupying Seat 1 BEE?
Very bizarre photo to say the least! Good thing I don't work around the aircraft as I am allergic to bees and need immediate medical attention if ever stung by just one!
This is very common in the Southwest. I have seen it happen on five or six occaisons in Arizona. We have called out beekeepers to smoke them off of the planes right before departure. On a side note, throwing Avgas on a bee is a quick way to kill them.
I don't see what all the buzz is about. It's just a BEEautiful shot......
Unique picture. You were lucky to have had the opportunity to BEE there and see this. As a joke: They would have had to cancel that flight for security reasons because those bees did not pass through the security checkpoint.
What a curious moment, nice catch.
To BEE or not to BEE, that's the question...btw, that's gotta BEE one of the best shots~! =)
Wonder if they flew with them on there?
They just skipped boarding in order to be off the plane first after arrival. :)
What a great idea - all those little wings might help increase lift, and at the same time provide free honey for the economy pax ;)
I wonder what is atracting them? Are they just mad that the lights may have been on?
A319, tastes like honey! :-)
Those who know how to fly prefer Airbus...
Interesting picture and well spotted. Hope they are not killer bees hitching a lift!
Bees like gasoline, too!
OK that is just WEIRD! Very unique capture! Hope you kept your distance!!!
Those lights taste like honey :)
How lucky BEEing able to capture a moment like this! Well done!
