Another phenomenal time lapse, DJ. I love the illusion of the wingtip lights appearing to "peel off". GREAT job.

It's Wonder Woman! :)

A visitor from United States posted Wed September 20, 2006:
Nice shot! The way to do it is to have a manual SLR camera, one with variable shutter settings, a tripod, cable release, and patience. Set your camera up on the tripod, making sure it entirely level, and attach the cable release to the camera. Set shutter speed to 'B', and point the camera at the sky. Wait for a plane to fly into view and press the shutter button, and let got a few seconds later. Simple!

A visitor from Poland posted Fri September 1, 2006:
WOW!! Great!! how on earth did you do that?

HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!

A visitor from France posted Wed April 26, 2006:
For the italian comment, i believe that it's bleu white and red, so it must be ours (french flag)
;-)

A visitor from United States posted Tue April 18, 2006:
Its so dramatic, that its almost moving!!

A visitor from Singapore posted Fri February 24, 2006:
Beautiful effect! The details are very clear as well!

Set against the canvas of the night sky and in context to downtown Washington DC, this makes for a very visually striking image.

A visitor from Netherlands posted Mon January 30, 2006:
Great perspective, being under the approach path with a beautiful clear sky.

P.S. For the comment from the visitor from Lebanon, the remark about "adverse yaw" is rubbish. The 737 has a yaw damper and spoilerons. The pilot flying most likely made a tiny overshoot of the final approach track, no biggie!

A visitor from Turkey posted Sat January 28, 2006:
It is like an air show ;)

A visitor from Lebanon posted Sat January 21, 2006:
Great shot
you can notice a slight "adverse yaw" effect at the beginning of the bank, that is the plane yawing to the right when it banks left. It is a normal aerodynamic reaction that has to be corrected with rudder application.

Great light, exposure

A visitor from United States posted Mon December 12, 2005:
Wonderful shot.... I agree - those do no look at all like 737-400 lights... The first-generation 737s have landing lights half-way out on the wings (on the flap canoes) and this bird does not. Airbus maybe?

A visitor from United States posted Fri December 9, 2005:
EXELLENT!! Great subject matter and outstanding color/exposure balance!!

The exposure length and the place you chose to take the photograph couldn't be more perfect! KLNS

A visitor from Netherlands posted Fri November 18, 2005:
Hmm these light don't look like 737-400 landing lights if you ask me.

Still a great photo, though.
