52-1363 (cn 344) Strategic Air Command B-36H 52-1363 on final approach to RAF Burtonwood (Lancashire) in October 1956 as part of a rare deployment of 16 Conquerors to the UK. SAC band on nose. A small window in the forward fuselage causes the '6' appear to be an '8'.

Pusher props are easier on the thrust bearings. Better engine air flow. Less FOD damage to the props. Cleaner air flow over the wings. Props are away from the ingress and egress routes of the crew. Makes it much more difficult on the wing flap designers though.
