51-0112 This USAF heavy lifter was at the air show for the opening of Wellington Airport on Labour Day 1959. The upgrade included a runway extension to 6000ft and a new terminal and control tower to handle new Vickers Viscount 810s of NAC and Lockheed L-188C Electra's of TEAL and Qantas.
