The story I got was that #3 was shut down due to fire indication on climb out although it was probably indication only. Then #4 ingested a flock of birds and shut down as the crew was on final approach to the field for repairs on #3 | |

I fly the C-5 and it seems that they had flaps down too long while bordering stall. at 3,500 nm, they had flaps at 30 with 162kts speed.They also became disroriented and didnt know where they were.I would say it was the flying crew's fault nevertherless, I hope they recover soon. | |

As a DSP (Delaware State Police) pilot I had to opportunity to transport a few of the crew. If I'm not mistaken, it was fully loaded with enough fuel for a flight to Kuwait... | |

The crew are lucky that the C-5 didn't catch fire they're also luckey that the nose broke off in the crash so if the C-5 did catch fire they would be a little farther away from the flames. I hope the crew gets better soon:) Andrew | |

Thank God everyone survived. The aircraft wreakage looks like there was lateral rotation on impact. This picture is certainly worth a thousand words. | |
