80-1073 (cn 073) Have you ever seen a bare metal U-2? In this clean configuration the usual superpods and the many antennas are missing. Most probably a test flight after some maintenance work at Plant 42.

And one of such aircrafts has been shot down near Sverdlovsk, Russia, on May 1st, 1960.

It's not missing any fuel tanks. All fuel is stored in the wings as you see it, and a small tank in the body around the engine.

One of these aircrafts came to Peshawar International Airport, Pakistan. offcourse that carft was involved in the U-2 crises!
