In theoretical aerodynamics many effects reach, in an infinitesimal way from positive to negative infinity. This photo illustrates how the rotation of the engine is felt far forward generating a vortex field bounded, in this case by the ground. When humidity conditions are favorable these vortices are often visible in static or slow speed operation.
