A visitor from United States posted Wed January 12, 2011: Navy fighter squadrons are based at Naval Air Stations, then deploy to the Carrier after it leaves port; they usually make a 6 month deployment, then leave the ship and return to NAS at end of cruise; BTW....squadrons include both Naval and Marine aviators. Very nice photo!

A visitor from United States posted Sun July 26, 2009: I believe the VFMAT-101 trains with both the Navy and Marines. The other side of the jet has Marine titles.
A visitor from Netherlands posted Sun July 26, 2009: Definitely does say NAVY. Easy to see, certainly when you enlarge the image. Is that a strange thing or something? Is this plane supposed to be operating from land? I guess it is, right? Well, maybe they only just got this one in from the navy and havent removed the markings yet.
