A visitor from United States posted Tue April 1, 2008: I was on this Cruise, and have many pics similar to this one! I was a Final Checker of VFA-41 of CVW-11 onboard CVN-68. I was like what a great Navy photo, wait a minute. I recognize our bird right next to El 1. I see the Ravens, Tophatters, and Shrikes in the foreground. Funny I can't zoom in, but I might even be leaning on our jet in this pic, where the three people are. Great Photo!!! Too bad we didnt make it to Hobart or Brisbane! Perth was great though!

Several parts of the picture are a true work of art in their own right - e.g. the moving FA18 on the bottom left and the silhouettes against the bright white moonlight. I especially love the 51-second exposure that causes the passing F/A-18 at the bottom left of the picture to blur and give the effect of motion.
