Viewed from the tower at 0359 Zulu Time, you can see the radar terminal station in the lower right displaying, from left to right, the Class 'D' airspaces' of PAO, NUQ and Class 'C' airspace of SJC. As an award-winning stereographer, I know that foreground interest is important. Maybe the plane itself could have been lit better, but the photographer knew his subject, and made the best shot possible.

Combining the detail in the tower (already a rare shot) and the lighting outside on this extremely rare bird gives me the shivers. Bonus features: the ANG ramp in the background; tiny lights all over the field; controller display; ZULU timestamp in neon tubes. Outstanding!
