If I'm not mistaken, the battle ship USS Missouri now sits where the cruisers are in this photo.

The USS Lake Erie was the ship that was doing all the anti-ballistic missile testing for the Navy. At the time they were the only anti-missile program getting hit to kill. That wasn't until the 2000s though I think.

Nice view. We can see two Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruisers in the background, CG-65 'Chosin' and CG-70 'Lake Erie', and behind them probably the Arleigh-Burke class guided missile destroyer John S. McCain (DDG-56).
