United Airlines used to maintain those presidential 757s in Indianapolis Indiana. Bush said that outsourcing is good for America so United took him at his word and abandoned Indianapolis and lost the work. Now they are maintained in China.

Copter 1...LMAO..thats the funniest thing I've ever seen on Airliners.net...How about Marine ONE?

A visitor from Finland posted Sun June 3, 2007:
Whatever whose plane this is, this photo is nice one to watch

A visitor from United States posted Tue July 11, 2006:
Try again all, the call sign of the plane POTUS rides in depends on the branch of the military that the aircraft belongs to. When he's in the helicopter, it's Marine One. When he's in an Air Force plane, it's Air Force One. I should know I've traveled in both! If he were to travel in a Navy or Army aircraft, it would be Navy One or Army One. He has an entire fleet of aircraft as his disposal. Everything from Gulfstreams to the 747s.

A visitor from United States posted Tue July 11, 2006:
Everybody who's commented here is half right. The president of the United States could fly on this one. It is authorized. If he did it's radio call sign would be Air Force One. If it was on an aircraft of any other other service it would be the name of that service, and then one. I.E Marine One. If he were to fly on a Cessna or other civilian operation the flight would be given special treatment with regard to the call sign but the basis for it would be the flight number (if a major airline) or the tail number of the a/c.

A visitor from Canada posted Tue July 11, 2006:
Call me pedantic, but if I'm not mistaken, the presidential helicopter is "Marine One", not "Copter One".

Nice pic.

I've been in this eact a/c. Very nice inside. They were working on the plasma TV when I was in it. It keep on overheating according to the VP. HA!!

A visitor from Mexico posted Tue July 11, 2006:
I landed in Budapest the same day as the president arrived. and i even saw him pass in his limo, the authorities closed al roads and nearby roads where he passed.

A visitor from Hungary posted Mon July 10, 2006:
The plane taking off is a Fokker 70 of Malev.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
Any plane the President is in is Air Force One. Doesn't matter if he takes up flying ultra lights or whatever.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
The US Government still has 757's?

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
Nice pic. strange that they wouldn't fly their 747 in there. The runways at LHBP are pretty big and there's plenty of ramp space for a heavy.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
Regarding naming AirForce one. Whatever aircraft POTUS ("President of the United States") is in, it is deemed Air Force 1: 737, 757, 747 and Sikorsky. When he is in the Presidential helicopter, it's named "Copter 1" or "Chopper 1".

Technically, if he was in a Cessna Caravan, it's ATC ICAO callsign would be, Airforce 1.

To answer the questions...
Bush came on his VC-25A http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1070762/L/
So the airport can support bigger guys as well.
On the background, there is a Fokker 70 in the color of Malev Hungarian Airlines.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
So this could be called Air Force-3. I have been in that airport before.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
With regards to the comment below... The President does fly on the C-32's from time to time.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
Look at the securities surrounding the aircaft.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
Http://www.nysun.com/article/34906 Bush was in Budapest on that day. If airports cannot support the VC-25 (runway or ramp space) they fly him in other airplanes. For example he has flown in a G-V from ABQ to Santa Fe because of the size of the airport.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
I love this plane. The only other color scheme I like on the 757 would be either Delta or Song. The rest just don't do it for me. Beautiful plane, and great capture of the plane departing in the distance. Is that a Tupolev 134? What carrier?

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
This is the President's plane when the airport they are going to cannot handle the 747. I see this plane at my airport (KROA)sometimes apparently practicing approaches.

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 10, 2006:
This can also be Bush's plane, its just a smaller plane instead of the 747

A visitor from Germany posted Sun July 9, 2006:
This is the secretary of states office plane not the presidents
