By the year this was taken, I thought that all Phantoms were painted in Vietnam era camo. I was in the Air Force in the early 80s and I never saw an F-4 in other than camo. It's funny, all the airplane photos I had developed on base were somehow ruined. The ones I had developed off base were fine. Hmmm?

Very unique, considering the photographer description. Perfect framing, amazing composition. Makes me think of the inverted F-4 from where this 10 stars pic was taken. Frank from BUE - e01

This rare shot had to be taken from a third escort fighter, which had to barrel-roll over the AWACS.very unusual perspective.

I absolutely love the tense, Cold War espionage feel to this shot.

The white on white aspect of the image is unintentionally beautiful, even though the AWACS aircraft is white for a different reason altogether. Overall the composition and the clarity contribute to produce a very subdued but powerful photograph. Five stars plus.

IT is a picture that no one has ever seen or will ever see.

Any shot with a phantom in it is alright by me.
