63-7993 (cn 18610) This is how we do it....During the 2010 TigerMeet we had this awesome photo join-up 7000 feet over Germany. We are used to having vintage aircraft, warbirds and jets posing behind the Skyvan photoship, but seeing a real tanker was an absolute highlight of the year! Despite the size of the aircraft, it was a very easy and stable photoflight, much to the delight of all photographers onboard of course; normally they would take air-to-air photos from a tanker, but seeing one behind you is really véry cool ;)

Actually, not a 707 but rather a 717. Those of us who flew her know the differences between the two. (different body, different production line to name a few). They may look similar, but they are not. Wonderful shot! - Brett

Ah yes, the REAL 717! Nicely framed shot, and the opposite of a "typical" tanker shot from the tanker.

The 707, 60 year beauty, and still lookin' great

Very nice picture. I wonder how the US Air Force crew got permission to do this? We normally try to avoid the bug smashers.

Amazing!

Awesome! One could say that the cruise speed of the photo plane matches the approach speed of the tanker. Gear down, clear to land, and dont't forget to wave your hand (cocom3power, Romania)
