Moral of this photo is: Paint your missiles black, and they'll get through no problem.

Very interesting photograph of a rare airplane. And I join an earlier poster by asking: Is there ANYTHING that a 135/707 et.al. CAN'T do? Great aircraft, like the C-130 and DC-3/C-47 up there as the most adaptable aircraft ever built!

I bet the pilots appreciated being located right next to the bullseye. "Ok, when we give the signal, hunker down in your seats."

OK, so it's a bit bizarre...but it's right up there with what the USAF has done to any number of other 135 airframes. Is there ANYTHING that a 135/707 et.al. CAN'T do? At least they 86'd the old "dogwhistle - waterburner" J-57 powerplants!

Let's hope missile developers don't discover black (or sky-colored paint. :)
