Remark Photographer
53-3289 / 57 (cn 44660/627) Following use by the Military Air Transport Service, many C-118 Liftmasters found a new lease of life as staff transports, serving with distinction in this role for many years. C-118A 53-3289, was typical of those aircraft assigned to Headquarters Command’s 1001st Air Base Wing at Andrews AFB, Maryland. The individual aircraft code number ‘57’ was carried on the nosewheel doors, this being a typical feature of most HEDCOM aircraft and helicopters.
