Remark Photographer
72-1450 / LN (cn E2-80) Turning six gallons of JP4 a second into raw power, a 493 TFS F-111F from the 48th TFW begins its late afternoon takeoff roll on runway 24. It is loaded with a pair of 2,000-lb GBU-15(V)1(T-1)/B guided bombs with an AN/AXQ-14 data link pod on the aft centerline station and a shallow AN/ALQ-131 ECM pod on its Pave Tack cradle. This photo was taken after the 14-15 April 1986 Libya bombing raid (Op El Dorado Canyon), by which time all the wing's aircraft had had the North African Campaign ribbon applied.

This picture should be placed in the top 100 on the site. Despite his age and therefore its quality the action catch is wonderful. Aardvark will always be an exceptional and revolutionary aircraft !
