A visitor from - posted Fri August 29, 2008: The first wide body aircraft in service, along with the first high bypass ratio turbofans operational. You can see from this view the unique 1 and 1/2 stage fan of those TF-39s. It is what gives the C-5 its unique noise characteristics. Simply awesome!
