Any idea how much torque is applied to the stabilator hinges? Must be massive.

Nicely composed picture. I keep waiting for the F-22 to "grow" on me. It's such an ugly aircraft. I know that form follows function, I just wish it followed function at a greater distance.

Ugly?
The F-22 is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever made if you ask me.
Awesome picture. 5*

What is the range of the F-22 with these fuel tanks mounted on?

Is this for real...or is it the next Transformers movie?! Excellent shot...the mathematics and physics that must have gone into creating that shape!!

IMHO, the Raptor is the most difficult plane there is to photograph; they look completely different when viewed from different angles; This is a very nice photograph, but it isn't one of the bird's "better angles".

Look at that little nose wheel tire. What do each of these F-22s cost?....about $350 million dollars each? That's a LOT of responsibility for one little nose gear tire. If I was the Air Force I'd have free flowing nose gear tire assemblies just laying around....everywhere. "What's that Airman?.....there's some chewing gum stuck to the nose gear tire? Why, there you are Airman...a fresh new wheel and tire assembly. What's that again?....where do you send the old wheel assembly for refurbishment? Airman send it right over there to the dumpster. Any questions?"

This is a five star photo. The background. The lighting. The angle. The perspective....all perfect. The forest is a perfect contrast to show the F-22 at it's best.
