A visitor from United States posted Fri April 4, 2008:Crisp, clean, clear shot of a bird with great (F-16ish) potential! Does the canopy really open up like a MiG-21?!?!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun March 9, 2008:You are neally correct. This version which is the F-35A isnt a VTOL aircraft just a standard aircraft, however its sister version which is due to make its maiden flight around may if i remember correct is, which is the F-35B. There is also the US carrier variant F-35C, which i think has shorter fatter wings with probably foldable wings and tail hook ect. And yes it did beat Boeings design (X-32) as that was ugly!!
A visitor from United States posted Fri February 1, 2008:Very nice. I wish that I knew more about this aircraft. I think it beat Boeing's design submission? This is a VTOL type aircraft?
