54-1619 One of the more interesting research aircraft of the mid 50's, this is the original prototype of the two Vertijets built. This aircraft proved beyond doubt that jet VTOL flight was technically feasible and practical. At the San Diego Aerospace Museum on long-tern loan from the Smithsonian Institution.
