164009 / NJ-442 (cn 0891/D039) Although still sporting VFA-125 “Rough Raiders” markings, this jet is now operated by VFA-122 “Flying Eagles”. VFA-125 was disestablished on October 1, 2010 and merged with VFA-122 as a cost saving measure in anticipation of the Legacy Hornet being replaced by the Super Hornet and F-35 Lightning II in the future. VFA-122 is now the largest Strike Fighter Squadron in the United States Navy, with over 100 aircraft on strength.
