156750 (cn C-017) The Old Navy (of sorts)... This freshly painted Two-sair shows off the attractive old color scheme of Gloss Gull Gray and Insignia White that had all but disappeared by this time. Visiting the NAS Atlanta t-line, it was from a little-known unit at Kirtland AFB, NM- the NWEF or Naval Weapons Evaluation Facility. Their primary function was nuclear weapons test (later expanded) and their insignia was the thunderbird- missing here. See photo's 1993586 and 2002316 for the same plane 3 yrs. later.
