89082 (cn 26-1003) Only the third production P2V-1 Neptune, the 'Truculent Turtle' set a world speed record on the 24th September 1946 by flying unrefuelled from Perth, Australia to Columbus, Ohio; being 11,235.6 miles in 55 hours and 17 mins. When photographed in late 1989 her original nose art was faded but still visible.
