Aviation Photo #0995027 McDonnell F-4B Phantom II - USA - Navy

Wreckage from downed American aircraft on display in the Air Defence Museum. The Phantom in the background crashed on May 14th, 1967, when during a strike on anti-aircraft defences near the Than Hoa bridge, both engines flamed out and could not be restarted. This was likely due to the ingestion of debris from the Zuni rockets fired moments before. The crew ejected and were taken prisoner.

They should have been very low so the plane didn't disintegrate

Very interesting and unique photo. How ironic that it is on display at the Air Defense Museum, but was not itself actually shot down.
