I think we had this aircraft at Carswell AFB, Fort Worth TX during the early 1980s. We sent the last of them to the bone yard in '83. They were pieces of....work to maintain, but it's funny how you look back with fond memories. They were old technology. In some cases they were the original technology. They had been updated with the DBNS (Digital Bomb/Nav System) which used inertial navigation in addition to Doppler velocity sensors and eventually with Satellite communication. Oh, make no mistake, they were dead-on accurate bombers when they retired them. It wasn't a question of whether they were going to get a shack, it was a question if they DIDN'T get a shack. That's how accurate they were. They also carried a variety of nuclear weapons including the SRAM....Short Range Attack Missile. They could lay waste to everything on the way to the primary target. No stopping them.
