Identifiable by their tall fins and sets of "hard-drive" alternators to supply electrical power to the aircraft attached to the left-hand side of each podded pair of engines, some of these B-52F Stratofortresses might have taken part in the Arc Light bombing missions in Vietnam in 1965. The type was retired to MASDC in 1978 and they were clearly showing signs of weathering when photographed nine years later.
