The 1985 Dobbins AFB air show featured beautiful weather and an amazing variety of display aircraft. One of the more interesting examples was this Aardvark from the 380th Bomb Wing at Plattsburgh AFB, in what has been called the SIOP (Single Integrated Operational Plan) color scheme, which was actually a variant of the "Vietnam" T.O. 1-1-4 scheme. The "mushroom cloud" wing insignia shows clearly, as a legacy of the only operational use of nuclear weapons.

This aircraft was from the 380th Bomb Wing at Plattsburgh AFB New York and not from Pease. I know this because I was the crew chief of the aircraft at this time.

Both Frank Mirande and Infenoble need to recheck their data. The FB-111A pictured clearly has a 509th BW Defensor Vindex patch on the fuselage near the cockpit. That indisputably proves it's assigned to the 509th BW, Pease AFB, NH and not the 380th BW as both Frank and Infernoble state. The 509th BW dropped both nuclear weapons on Japan, NOT the 380th BW.
