"National Museum of the US Air Force" The USAF's most modern air superiority fighter already in the museum! ;-) This one got here because of an in-flight incident during which the max G-load of the aircraft was exceeded. The aircraft landed safely but was never to fly again. It now replaces the prototype YF-22 which was on display here before. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]

Quick question. why didn't the max G of the aircraft get increased since it could obviously handle it?

What happened to the pilot? I thought the max g load of such a fighter would be much higher than human can endure.
