Rare 1988 low res close cropped front view of former US Army Air Force Lightning P-38F-5-LO Bu 42-12647 (Code 34), at the PNG War Museum in Port Moresby. She was Accpeted into the USAAF in June 1942, and was one of the first batch of P-38s to arrive in Australia. 1/Lt Ralph Bills shot down his second Zero while flying this aircraft on 31Dec1942. Later the aircraft was Named: 'Dottie from Brooklyn'. The P-38F crashed near Port Moresby in Jan 1944, and was recovered in 1978 and taken to the War Museum.
