The C-17 might be on the stubby side when it comes to length but when viewed from the front, you can see how wide this aircraft really is! 89-1191, which is now based in Hawaii, taxies to runway 26L while testing its flight controls (note the rudder deflection). What an amazing machine!

Nice picture, but a minor correction: They are not testing the flight controls, the rudder deflects in coordination with the rudder pedals and the "tiller" when the aircraft is turned. The EFCS flight control checks have to pass their tests before the crew taxis out. Amazing machine for sure though!
