A 'Happy Hooligan', seen on the active flightline during one of those fantastic tours at Davis Monthan and AMARC. This beautiful F-4D lacks the bump under its nose.

The photographer has captured all the beauty and grace of the F4 Phantom as it is indeed something to behold. Truly a remarkable weapons platform. It's a shame that CFM was thought to be an outdated mode when she first came on line. Many were lost due to this oversite. Field testing by the installation of a weapons pod stopped that mis- guidance concerning CFM around and turned the tide against Mig-15's and Mig-17's during the 60's and 70's during the Vietnamese conflict. In my opinion the photographer has captured the very essence of what a warbird is; grace yet elegant, at rest while vigilante and ready able to take on all comers.
