The Blue Angels Transport Cargo Hercules aircraft, known as Fat Albert, is the only Marine Corps aircraft permanently assigned to a navy squadron for support. At Joint Service Open House 2006 at Camp Springs, Fat Albert is demonstrating its Jet-Assisted Take-off (JATO) capability. Eight solid-fuel rockets are attached to the sides of the aircraft. The JATO bottles allow the Fat Albert to takeoff within 1,500 ft, climb at a 45 degree angle, and propel it to an altitude of 1,000 ft in approximately 15 sec.
