Cannot tell for sure but looks like it was shot from the forward/port catwalk.. Many good photos taken from there and this one is exemplary.

I hope this guy is doing at least 150knots, or thereabout, because if he's not, he's about to have a nice swim. But - this is my 2nd best dream - the best is guiding an F18 back on deck. This pic shows there is such a fine line between a life lived to the fullest, and a life about to end! John, Melbourne (also the name of an aircraft carrier...)
