Aircraft participated in the exploration of Antartica, "Operation Deep Freeze", and was actually the first aircraft to land at the South Pole (on 31 Oct 1956). It has been restored and is currently being displayed at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola, FL.
