At first glance, this Intruder is strangely marked with the familiar Tactical Paint Scheme Ghost Grays overall but a white nose radome and rudder plus all markings in color. Actually, this was a "movie star" of sorts as it was one of several aircraft belonging to VA-165 Boomers that were cosmetically altered to resemble Intruders of the Vietnam War (VA-196 Main Battery) for Flight of the Intruder. The name below the canopy is none other than Lt. Jake Grafton (Cool Hand), the story's central character.
