One of the first Hornets for long-time A-4 Skyhawk user VFC-12 Omars (NAS Oceana, VA), this is the Skipper's bird at rest on the now dormant ex-VA-205 ramp (it would become active again with the arrival of E-2 sqn. VAW-77 in Nov. '95). This aircraft is finished in what appears to be a combination Mig-29 (false alternate air louvers on top of LERX) and Su-27 scheme (good approximation of colors). The Omars inherited the "Ambush" call sign of the disestablished unit VF-43 Challengers.
