Onboard the USS Intrepid. Back on June 6th 1957 a Crusader just like the one pictured here flew the very first transcontinental supersonic flight from California to New York, landing at Floyd Bennett Field with Major John Glenn behind the yoke. That flight took only 3 hours and 22 minutes. The Crusader would in fact become the fastest aircraft ever to be assigned to operate off the USS Intrepid.
