On the eve of the incident. Plane was coming in for landing, when suddenly distress call sounded over the RIC_CTR frequency - USAir Express flight was calling in with a gear problem. Crew reported that nose gear did not extend. Plane overflew the airport and people on the ground confirmed all three wheels down and plane landed with no further incident. Gear indicator for the nose gear in the cockpit failed due to icing.
