N747PA (cn 19639/2) There was a ceremony at JFK when this aircraft left for San Bernardino. The aircraft got a water cannon salute, took off on 4L and then performed a ceremonial flyby.

I saw what was left of it in 1999, when I flew a light plane into San Bernadino...it was painted in some Mexican freight outfit's colors, but still had the US registration- N747PA.

As Indiana Jones would have said, 'It belongs in a museum!!'

Very nice pic but a very dramatic one also, what a shame they scrapped her, she would have deserved a warm and dry place in a museum!

Juan Trippe...probably the most famous Jumbo jet!
