CP-1655 (cn 33294) Before the road that links La Paz with Santa Cruz was paved in the 90’s, the trip between those cities was extremely tough, demanding around two days. I traveled it in 1990 on the cargo hold of a truck carrying cement. It really was kind of adventure! In those days the old propellers like this C-46 were used to bring fresh meat from the green flatlands of Santa Cruz to La Paz. Now, the asphalt road allows trucks with cooling systems to do it more cost-effectively.A way progress hampers aviation growth :-(
