N914LF (cn 45695/1) Criminal, absolutely criminal! This is nothing less than the very first DC-9 ever built - the number one prototype. After flying as a test ship with MDC, she led a hard life and ended up flying with a small Spanish carrier, Air Sur. Reposessed by International Lease Finance Corporation after Air Sur collapsed, she was ferried first to Florida and then to Texas where she was cut up for scrap. Surely, the number one DC-9 deserved preservation rather than the axe? (Kodachrome 64 original)

Andy, as you said 'absolutely criminal', I served my time on the 9 and am working on it since, on and off now days. Must say that it has to go down as probably the most reliable pax aircraft ever, bar the lead screw issue.

What a sad end for this beautiful aircraft!.Very common planes seen here at MEX for almost 40 years,until Aeromexico retired them in 2004 :)
