N4887C / 33 (cn 45351/903) Built in 1957 this Classic Dc7 was converted into a Fire Water Bomber and painted into basic Delta Airlines colours minus the titles. It was not Airworthy at the time we visited but there were plans to get it airbourne again in the near future.

This is a great picture of a great aircraft i did not work at DELTA being a capt at EAL for 35 yrs but we flew the same acft and it was the heyday of flying a proud bird and i am not surprised to see it flying as a water bomber some 40 yrs later!!

I like it because it was the first airplane I flew on when going to Atlanta for a job interview with Delta in 1965. Flt 714 MIA-JAX-SAV-ATL. Great airplane.
