Awesome! To the visitors below: these are indeed CFM56 engines. The DC-8-72 is a DC-8-62 that was re-engined with CFM later in its life; originally it had P&W JT3D engines. For the DC-8-61 and -63 this conversion was also offered, turning them into -71 and -73 respectively. With the new engines, the Big Eight got improved range, fuel burn, climb performance, and it got an awful lot quieter as well. No -70 Series were delivered new, they were all converted -60 Series. | |
It looks like a big Turbojet fighter with 4 fake engines. Isn't it? | |
Perhaps they are CFM engines as found on some advanced Freighter types, e.g. ones from UPS. | |
