A perfect shot of a great milestone in flight history. You can see the pilots position and his view through the windshield. The openings for the 4 MK108 30mm Canons in the nose of the airplane (surely here without the canons inside) give a frightening impression about the firepower of the fighter, and you can understand why the pilots of the german airforce were shocked when the leader wanted to put this air warrior as a bomber in service. the gear section is wonderfull to see in this picture also. But most impressive is the fact how the "body" of the Schwalbe looks like on the Photo. I am very impressed about the shark form of the plane. Nose, body shape, the wings position an also the fin on top. Even today this 65 years old desing looks more modern than many planes of our time. Like st. Exupery said: Perfection is attained not when no more can be added, but when no more can be removed. This is what I can see in this foto. GREAT!!! | |
