I thought it was a wheel fire at first :-O

And while it resembles an A340, it was built in the 1980s (with 1970s engines). So no, while it may look nice, it is not an improved A340.

It´s just light effect, You can see the same "phenomenon" in the nose landing gear, compare the light and the reflex under the tire on the runway.

It's the landing lights reflecting through the spray. have a look at other IL86 shots and you will see that the landing lights appear to be on the upper part of the main landing gear leg.

Seems like water speraying during landing. Great but somewhat depressive picture. Russian Sky and before IRS Aero logos are still clearly visible. I could not find the original Aeroflot remnants, though. Hope the savings on repainting went all to maintenance ;o)
